Watch: Mshoza’s Funeral Is Live On YouTube

Due to Covid-19, Mshoza‘s funeral is being live streamed on YouTube so that her fans can pay their last respects virtually.

The funeral service is currently taking place at House of Treasures Ministries in Rispark, Johannesburg and Mshoza will later be buried at Westpark Cemetery in Montgomery Park.

Mshoza’s close friend Khanyi Mbau has posted the link on Twitter for those who wish to join.

Khanyi is also the one who broke the news of Mshoza’s passing last week Thursday when she posted on her Instagram. “REST IN PEACE MY LOVE . I am tired 2020,” Khanyi wrote.

Mshoza’s manager of 11 years Thanduxolo Jindela,  confirmed to Sowetan that the singer was actually rushed to hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

“She had been living with diabetes for a long time and she was treating it. We were obviously keeping it out of the media that she was hospitalised yesterday. Remember, there is Mshoza that everyone loves and knows. Then there is Nomasonto and she didn’t like such things to be known”, said Jindela.

Thembi Seete is one of the many people who paid tribute to Mshoza on social media. “Pelo yaka ebo bohloko , hake kholoe hore Mshoza o re sile 😭😭💔💔💔 #RIPSonto #ripmshoza Robala ka kgotso Mme…,” wrote actress and singer Thembi Seete.

As if that wasn’t enough Mshoza’s ex boyfriend, Anele Ngcongca passed away in a car accident just four days after Mshoza’s death. The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender was only 33 years old when the car accident claimed his life in the early hours of Monday, 23 November in KZN. According to reports, Anele was set to join AmaZulu (on loan from Sundowns), a Durban-based soccer club and was travelling to finalise his agreement when the accident happened.

A police officer told Eye Witness News news that Anele lost his life on the scene and a case of culpable homicide has been opened. “It’s alleged that this morning, at 5am, a vehicle with two occupants lost control and overturned on the N2 freeway near Mtunzini. A 33-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for medical attention. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. A case of culpable homicide has been opened for investigation by Mtunzini SAPS.”

Meanwhile Anele’s sister, Siyasanga Ngcongca took to Twitter to thank everyone for their support and confirmed that Anele’s funeral will take place on Thursday, 3 December in Gugulethu, Cape Town.
