It may not be his original show Zola 7 but it sure is good to hear that Zola will be back on our TV screens as a presenter of his own show. Zola has returned onto our screens for a while now, acting on shows like Ayeye and Isibaya, but we’ve missed seeing him in action as a presenter, do you guys remember that he also used to present Take 5 back in the day?
Mzansi Magic has just revealed that Zola will be the host of a new reality show called Utatakho. According to the channel the 13 part series is focused on resolving issues of paternity using DNA testing, allowing the individuals involved, the opportunity to answer questions of parentage that they have been unable to answer before.
Zola will take on the role of mediator and investigator. Utatakho is centered on bringing resolution and understanding to the difficult topic of absent fathers. Using in-depth interviews, the series will explore the motivations, doubts and hopes of the three most central persons in each episode – father, mother, child
“I really wanted to be involved in this particular program because it tackles a subject that is very relevant to many South Africans, and very close to my own heart. I want people to see that they can engage, that there can be a powerful positive outcome to years of questions, that using a combination of science and respect, we can have meaningful conversations about paternity, family, future. I think audiences will be inspired and moved by the stories that are told on this show.” said Zola
Utatakho will debut on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) on Tuesday, July 7 at 19:30
