Pretty Hurts!
Simphiwe Ngema has debunked all stereotypical beauty myths that have been clipped on her ears.

The former Isidingo actress recently opened up about her struggles of being judged harshly for being pretty. During an interview on the reality show, Tropika Island of Treasures, Simphiwe recounted how her beauty proved to be a dent in her career as an actress.

The entertainment industry is known for all things fickle and superficial, but Simphiwe Ngema is proud to have maintained her authenticity through and through.

“The biggest challenge I have faced throughout my career is fitting in. The minute that you’re pretty,  people think you’re shallow and you always have to prove yourself. Unfortunately, the entertainment industry is riddled with shallow people, so it doesn’t make the task any easier.” she said.

Mzansi’s all time IT girl, Pearl Thusi has previously spoken out about how colourism has been a disadvantage in some instances in her acting career.

The mother of two revealed how, during a casting, directors told her that she wasn’t “black” enough for a certain role.

Pearl Thusi has put in the blood and sweat throughout her career in the Arts. Her work ethic remains unmatched and Sis keeps securing the bag, while haters… hate.
