The musician and song writer let's us in on his latest project titled - Evening Of Love and also speaks about the last conversation he had with the late Robbie Malinga.
As Valentines Day nears closer, many musicians have prepared themselves to give couples the most memorable Valentines evening by far. One of those artists include the likes of Ntando, who is part of the 12 artist roster that will be performing at the Evening of Love event on the 14th of February."
Ntando has promised to give his fans a mixture of his old and new music at the event.
"The Ntando people know has not changed, so people can always expect me to give it my all when it comes to my performances, I'll leave everything on stage. I will be performing a mixture of old and new songs because I have a new album out."
The line up will include the likes of Vusi Nova, Kelly Khumalo, Samthing Soweto & many more. ZAlebs asked Ntando if he'd be performing with any of the other artists mentioned and he said there is definitely a possibility of that happening.
"Yeah man, I'm going to try and do that, there are a few new songs which were added onto the Evening Of Love album...there's a song I did with Kelly Khumalo for her last album, so hopefully we'll have time to rehears and do that, I know I'm also going to perform with Bekezela on the night as well." Said Ntando.
We then shifted the conversation to his close relationship with his mentor & producer Robbie Malinga, who passed away on Christmas Day last year. Ntando shared with ZAlebs the last conversation he had with the late music producer, and of course the conversation was in relation to music.
"Robbie played a huge role in my career, I mean I've learned 90% of a lot of things from Robbie. What I remember is that the last call we had together was about my music and style. So I said to him that I realised he was moving more towards the Nigerian sound with regards to his music, I eventually asked him what was up with that. Robbie eventually let me know that there was a song he needed me on.
See Robbie used to tease me a lot about the reggae influence in my music, but in our last conversation he was like 'now is the right time to do it & fuse it with the North African sound. I was really looking forward to working with him on that song, he really played a huge role in my music and I'll forever miss him."
The Evening of Love event will take place at the Sun Arena in Menlyn, Pretoria. Tickets are already on sale.
