Mzansi Celebrates Happy New Year As We Are Officially On Lockdown
We are officially on lockdown today, yesterday midnight South African’s welcomed this much-anticipated period with excitement and hope that we will be able to combat the outbreak of Covid-19.
Remember the future is all in our hands if we adhere to all the rules, so please don’t flout the rules!

As you know South Africans always finds humour in everything, be it good or bad Black Twitter does not shy away from embracing and celebrating all the good and bad things we encounter as a nation. Today the hashtags HappyNewYear and 21daysLockdownSA have been trending on Twitter, with many describing the lockdown period as a new dawn.
In the history of our country, we have never been on lockdown nor missed the Easter holidays celebrations, but this year everything has been brought to a complete standstill.
 
The lockdown is set to last for 21 days and President Cyril Ramaphosa has pleaded with everyone to stay indoors and follow all the necessary precautions aimed at tackling this virus.

Remember to always wash your hands and when you have symptoms of the virus seek medical attention swiftly and don’t be vulnerable because arrests have been made for those breaking the rules.
