Although the nation has been waiting for #Zexit with bated breath, the way things have happened in the past had led some of us to believe that this day would never come. And just like that, we had a new president, practically overnight.
With a new president comes a new first lady and we’re excited to see more of Dr. Tshepo Ramaphosa.
Mrs. Ramaphosa was born in Soweto into the renowned Motsepe family. Billionaire mining magnate, Patrice Motsepe is her brother and the pair have a sister, Bridgette Radebe, who is married to minister, Jeff Radebe.
She studied a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery MBChB Degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu-Natal. Dr. Ramaphosa, later went on to complete her Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal Child Health and Ageing at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Ramaphosa has since used her qualifications in the various prestigious positions she has held as well as in her work as a philanthropist with a particular focus on education.
She and the president have three children together – two sons named Tumelo and Andile and a daughter who has managed to evade public scrutiny. He also has a daughter from his previous marriage whom there isn’t much information available.
Tumelo is a businessman and currently holds the position of CEO at a company he founded titled – StudEx Wild Life.
