Similar in format to M-Net entertainment news show ‘Headlines’, which Kuli presented alongside Trevor Gumbi until it was cancelled last year, ‘Scandalous Fridays’ will be aired on DStv sport celebrity channel Trace Sports Stars.
Speaking to Grazia magazine about the new show, Kuli explained: “I know nothing about sport, but this show isn’t really about that. Rather, I chat about international and local sportsmen who’ve got themselves into trouble over the years.”
And one such scandalous sports star that immediately comes to mind is murder-accused Oscar Pistorius, who shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, who happened to be one of Kuli’s close friends.
Kuli, who co-hosts the weekly breakfast show on Kaya FM with Bob Mabena, has since Reeva’s death been very vocal about her loathing for Oscar, who she has on Twitter admitted she hates.
And her feelings clearly haven’t changed.
“I’ll read what happens in the newspapers. I don’t want to see his face,” Kuli told Grazia about whether she’d be watching the end of the trial on television.
“She’s not coming back and that’s not right. I just don’t think [Oscar] will go to jail. I don’t have faith in our justice system. But who knows – maybe they’ll lock him up on one of those other charges. We’ll just have to wait and see...”
Kicking off on 3 October 2014, ‘Scandalous Fridays’ will air on Trace Sports Starts at 9pm every Friday.
