Lebo Mathosa

It seems like just yesterday when we heard of the untimely passing of one of South Africa's most loved musicians - Lebo Mathosa

It's been 11 years since the passing of the kwaito singer Lebo Mathosa. It feels like yesterday when she was blessing us with her talent.

Lebo Mathosa started her kwaito singing career as a member of the prominent kwaito/Hip Hop group Boom Shaka alongside Junior Sokhela, Theo Nhlengethwa and Thembi Seete in 1994. Lebo was only 17 when she joined the group at the time and ever since she stepped onto the scene her career was nothing short of a success.

Lebo not only graced the world with her amazing voice but she had the dance moves and unique fashion sense to back it up too. With a very distinct way of performing Lebo definitely knew how to put on a good show. Lebo exuded confidence and was never shy to show off her amazing body.

In 2001, Mathosa was nominated as one of Africas sexiest women by FHM magazine and won the award for Best Dressed Woman in 2001. A very attractive woman with a strong pro-feminist attitude, Lebo was openly bisexual too and wasn’t afraid to embrace that as well.
