Fikile Mthwalo may be thousands of miles away from her husband, Atandwa Kani, but she still keeps him close to her heart.
The actress posted a cute video on Thursday, explaining that even though she is temporarily living in New York, while Atandwa is back home in South Africa, their love for each other remains strong.
It seems she may have received some criticism from fans about leaving her husband at home to study abroad, but Fikile does not get their reasoning.
“I really don’t understand people who think that somehow I left my husband at home. I didn’t leave him anywhere, in fact he is right here,” she said in the video, while using her hand to mimic a beating heart under her shirt.

Fikile moved to the Big Apple in 2015 to do her masters in acting at the Tisch School of Arts at New York University.
Long distance relationships may be challenging at times, but Fikile says it will all be worth it in the long run.
“I still miss you very much my love. And everything I do, brings me closer to you. I’m doing this for us and our future family: I love you,” she captioned her video.
