As weslowly approach the festive season, I am quite surprised at how fast this year has gone, although some might argue that 2018 has been dragging.
Also, for some of you, this year has been nothing short of amazing as the universe has worked in your favour in more ways than one. For the rest of us, 2018 was like 2016 the return, and we all know how terrible 2016 was.
I, like many of you, have probably experienced great loss this year, loss of a job or loss of a loved one and boy did we lose a lot of our loved ones this year which is maybe part of the reason why I just want this year to end, I’m sure you feel the same as well?
However, although I might be in a rush for the year to end, the thought of 2018 coming to an end has also brought upon a bit of anxiety in my life, which is what some people might term the end of the year anxiety feeling.
There are still so many things I was set out to do and achieve this year but have failed dismally at achieving those things.
So what happened? Honestly, I don’t know, I guess life happened, and I like many of you, I got distracted by life’s unpredictable ways.
Anyway, you’re probably reading this and getting even more frustrated with every paragraph because you also didn’t achieve all that you set out to do this year, but don’t worry, as much as 2018 is coming to an end I find solace at the thought of approaching a new year.
We all have no idea what 2019 has in store for us, but the beauty of this is that we have no choice but to look forward to the new year ahead, to have a positive outlook and to encourage ourselves to re-strategise, re-evaluate and find new ways of meeting our own personal goals.
So I’m not going to bore you with steps on how to get over your end of year anxiety, but because I know almost everyone is on Instagram, here are some interesting Instagram accounts I saw from Women’s Health Magazine that you can follow that will probably distract you from focusing too much on your end of year anxiety.

Mari’s account is a great place to just learn how to distress and clean your thoughts of any negatives that my be hogging your mind. The more you scroll her account the more it feels as though she knows exactly what you’re going through.
This account helps one to focus on the little things in life that make you feel a bit calmer, things like self-care, washing dishes, asking for help when you feel destitute or overwhelmed.

We hadn't spoken in many years but it still feels unreal. Previously, I was one of the lucky few where the only deaths I'd known were those of my grandparents. I don't really know how to process it, so this is me trying to process. ***Update: thank you all for the love and stories shared.
