At the beginning of their relationship, Bokang Montjane-Tshabala and Siphiwe Tshabalala were very private. Fast forward to a few years later, they're married, have a son and are more in love than ever. And they sometimes give fans a glimpse of their union on social media.
The former Miss South Africa recently visited the Gareth Cliff Show on CliffCentral, where she spoke about her pageant life, childhood and her husband, obviously.
She revealed that they met at a radio station back in 2010. She was coming out, while he was going in for an interview. The football star then asked to take a picture with her and even asked for her number from the station.
"He went behind my back and he just went after the people at the radio station. He begged them, they said 'we're not allowed to' and he said 'please, please, please' and eventually he got my numbers," she explained to Gareth.
She revealed that they only started dating in 2012. "I made him wait," Bokang said.
"He's amazing. He's such a great dad, he's a great husband, very supportive of the stuff that I do... I've always said I don't want a man who's a finished product, meaning somebody who has everything."
She said she wanted somebody to grow with, adding: "Somebody I can build with and we're in business together, we do so many things together."
Bokang emphasised the fact that she and her husband did things their way.
"We didn't do it as a public relationship. And I think you just wanna protect it especially at the beginning, you just wanna do you and let it be the two of you and see how far it can get."
The couple tied the knot in 2016.
