[Watch] Thando Thabethe Shows Major Support For Suspended Dineo Ranaka

Media personality Thando Thabethe has shown major support for Metro FM DJ Dineo Ranaka, who recently got suspended for participating in the viral #UmlandoChallenge.

The challenge has gone viral on Tik Tok and several celebs have participated in it. Thando and the 947 drive team rose to the challenge by mocking Metro FM for suspending her industry peer and they nailed it. The crew can be seen swinging their hips on office furniture at the 947 studios, while shaking what their momma gave them.

Many social media users have hailed Thando for standing with Dineo who landed herself in trouble with her bosses.

Dineo filmed herself dancing on top of office furniture at the SABC studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, last week, and little did she know the video would get her into trouble.

News of her suspension circulated viral yesterday after a source told City Press that she had been suspended due to misconduct.

“Unlike other people who did the challenge, she danced on top of expensive furniture,” the source added. SABC’s group executive for corporate affairs, Gugu Ntuli, confirmed the suspension of the presenter.

“The SABC can confirm that Dineo Ranaka is not scheduled on Metro FM at this stage and as a matter of principle the corporation does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public.” she said.

Yesterday former Metro FM host Pearl Thusi took a jab at the station for suspending Dineo. In a tweet she said one of her best decisions was to leave the station.

She sympathized with Dineo but her followers were not having it, instead they dragged her. They said it was wrong for Dineo to dance on office furniture. Here’s how many reacted to her tweet:

“Learning what exactly? That dancing on company property is justified if you’re a celebrity? That if a certain institution doesn’t let you have your way u should leave? Transparency? No. Let’s not be suck-ups neh. Where rules exist, they must be adhered to unless otherwise stated.”
