Following the viral success of Gatya’s duet which includes Zulu lyrics and his soulful voice, Legend invited him to share the stage in a dreamy performance. This comes shortly after Legend retweeted the viral video with fire emojis. The singer took to Instagram and described it as a moment he’ll never forget and expressed his gratitude. Support was also received from other artists like DJ Vitoto and award-winning Canadian duo Neon Dreams, in which Gatya collaborated with on a single last year ‘ Say it out Loud’.
Support for the iconic performance spread onto Twitter as public figures showered Mthandazo Gatya with support. Media personality Anele Mdoda shared a clip of the performance and wrote, “It happened guys!!! You did this for him!!! Well done Southaaa’

After the first performance, the talented pair, Mthandazo Gatya and John Legend, graced the stage once more in a pre-recorded video. This performance was aired at the Global Citizen Festival held simultaneously in Accra, Ghana and New York City, United States of America.
