Somizi Mhlongo has taken time out of his period of mourning to offer a message of gratitude to his family, friends and supporters. The Instagram post shared on Friday, 10 July 2020, thanked numerous service providers, but also made special mention of the people closest to him.
He began with, “I’d like to take this moment to thank each and every one of u for all the messages of love and support during this very difficult time for myself and my family… I’d also like to mention a few individuals who gave their time and were physically there from the beginning until we laid mama to rest.”
He paid tribute to singer, Dr Rebecca Malope who he claimed was one of Mam’Mary’s biggest idols, and mentioned his husband Mohale Motaung who he referred to as his pillar.
