He also called on Durban-based artists including the likes of DJ Tira, to organize a concert, where artists would perform for free, and they will contribute the proceedings made from the ticket monies to the relief fund.
Here are some of the clips of the destruction.
After witnessing the Floods again in my Lifetime. I now see the importance of Land. People are dying cause they are squeezing themselves to Land that’s not suitable for housings. We Need The Land!!! This is not a political stance but a Human Rights Matter.#KZNFloods pic.twitter.com/4PifEzu3dZ

Various affected KZN residents have been sharing clips and images of the destruction and they are heartbreaking. One Twitter users, who was stuck at home was able to receive tips on how to remain safe from Sizwe Dhlomo after her home was flooded with water.
In a tweet she said ““Can anyone send some help. I am stuck inside my place, I looked through the window t [and] the water is flowing like a river so I can’t open the door . Am in Chesterville Road 16 #Durban #kznfloods”, posted the tweep.
Sizwe replied “Try & relax for now Madlala. I can imagine you are scared. Don’t open the door because then the water will flood in. If you still have electricity, charge all of your devices so you can call for help & people can get hold of you. Only open for cops or EMS”.
We are deeply saddened by the very heavy rains in KwaZulu Natal and hope that the country will come together and help ease the trauma suffered by the families affected.
