Skeem Saam reps revealed via the Sowetan that viewers would be seeing less of actress Lydia Mokgokoloshi and that she will keep a recurring role.
The 80 year old veteran has been on Skeem Saam since 2011.
“She will still be in and out of the story. She just won’t be shooting as much as she used to,” admitted spokesperson Sumaya Mogola. “Our shooting schedule gets really hectic at times and we don’t want to wear her out.
“She is at a very sensitive age so she needs as much rest, care and comfort as possible.
“The decision was made before lockdown, so I can’t really say that Covid-19 is the sole reason,” Mogola said.
In a bid to move her to the reccuring role, Koko has since moved away from Turfloop in Limpopo which is where Skeem Saam is based. Koko left under the premise that she was going home to spend quality time with her brother Josias.
The fans are definitely sad to see her go.
