Pearl Thusi is amongst the many South Africans grieving the loss of Mam Mary, following the shocking news on Saturday, 4 July 2020. In a touching post shared the following day, Pearl spoke about the many memories shared with the esteemed actor, and offered her heartfelt condolences to Somizi in his time of grieving.
The actress also shared a video of herself and Mam Mary on the set of Catching Feelings, where they were heard joking around and having fun. She stated, “So on this particular day was the only day I recorded my shenanigans with Mam Mary on set. I latched on to Mam Mary in a way I can’t explain. I was a shadow or tail on her at work. I always checked for her first in the call sheet. I’d beg to be in the same scenes as her but because all we did was laugh and make jokes nonstop- they ended up separating us so work would get done.”
