History of Kokovha shoes
In November 2021, Makhadzi launched her line of sneakers called Kokovha after her second album by the same name which she released in 2020.
The album was massively received and was certified gold plaque by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). Makhadzi worked with several top musicians including Sho Majodzi, Moonchild Sanelly, Mampintsha, Zimbabwe’s Jah Prayzah and Botswana’s Charma Gal on her Kokovha album.
Makhadzi, who revealed that she always had a dream of launching her own sneaker line, landed a partnership deal worth R120 million with Kick Sportswear.
Kokhova sneakers are unisex sneakers that come in a range of bright colours that is remisniscent of the Venda culture. Since its launch in December 2021, Kokovha sneakers have received positive reviews and it appears to be doing well in sales.

At only 26 years old, Makahadzi is a landlady of a block of rental flats in Sunnyside Pretoria.
She also makes money from her line of body lotion called Mavoda music which alongside her music, which is her main hustle and she is winning big, going by her net worth.

Makahdzi joined a list of other South African musicians and celebrities with shoe brands. Famous rapper AKA (real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes) partnered with Reebok to launch a brand of sneakers called SneAKA.
AKA’s biggest rival- Cassper Nyovest also owns a line of sneakers called Drip 990 Root of Fame in collaboration with Drip Footwear in an R100 million deal.
John Cena hitmaker Sho Majodzi partnered with Nike on the Air Rebels campaign called #KissMyAirs which was a success. Thereafter, Sho Majodzi partnered with Nike to launch the Melanin Boyz Club x NIKE x Sho Madjozi collection.
Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo also has a line of sneakers called Bathu x Somizi sneakers which he launched in partnership with Bathu Sneakers.
