[Watch] DJ Fresh And Wife Confirm They Are Headed For Divorce

DJ Fresh and his wife Thabiso Sikwane, hogged news headlines this past Sunday after Sunday World reported that the couple had called it quits, and are in the process of getting divorced.

The couple has since come out to set the record straight by confirming that they are separating after 20 years of marriage.

In a joint statement recorded in a video clip, they said their marriage had been shaky the beginning of lockdown and that is where they decided to head for splitsville, but their separation was amicable.

“Those who know me, know that I am not a social media person but it’s just special circumstances concerned about the buzz surrounding us that it important tat we state the facts,” said Thabiso.

“Yes, it’s a fact, we are headed for a divorce process and we have been for the past two years,” she added.

DJ Fresh also added that we should not expect fireworks, demands and drama surrounding their breakup. He said they still care for each other as they have 2 beautiful children to raise.

“There will never be drama between us because we will forever love each other and we’ve got three beautiful kids to raise and that is our focus,” he said. He said their divorce is nearly over and added that they are just finalizing the finer details of it.

DJ Fresh has been making headlines for the wrong reasons lately. In 2021 he embroiled in an alleged rape scandal which saw him losing his job. This follows after rape allegations were levelled against him and Euphonik by a woman named @Nampree. The Twitter user alleged that DJ Fresh and Euphonik drugged and raped her along with three other women.

Because she was allegedly drugged, Nampree said she couldn’t know for sure whether both Euphonik and DJ Fresh had raped her. However she was adamant that she was raped by either of them.

Speaking to IOL, DJ Fresh refuted these claims, saying he was hurt that these allegations were made again. He told the publication that he did not know these women and flatly denied raping these women.

“I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful,” Fresh told IOL.

“I am deeply concerned that spurious allegations about Gender-Based Violence , especially as it is one of the most significant societal challenges in South Africa, undermine the gravity of legitimate incidents, and impact the urgency with which they are attended. Each time someone succumbs to the temptation of using GBV to further personal agendas, the cause to eradicate this scourge takes a step backwards.“
