Amapiano DJ, Njelic (real name Tshwarelo Motlhako), is currently mourning the loss of his mother. The Dj and vocalist, who is famously for hits ‘Nana Thula’ and ‘Liyoshona’ – to mention a few – has taken to social media to announce the passing of his mother.
The musician’s fans and industry colleagues such as Major League DJz, Ma-E and Toya Delazy took to the comments section to comfort him.
Njelic is a 34-year-old musician who was born and bred in Soweto. The first time South Africa was introduced to him on a large scale was on the smash hit ‘Shesha’ where he was featured by De Mthuda. Shortly after, he was back with another hit track titled ‘Nana Thula’ where he teamed up with SAMA nominee Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. On both songs he featured as a vocalist. Right now, South Africans are dancing to to his hit song ‘Liyoshona’ where he collaborated with Kwiish SA, Malumnator and De Mthuda.
The musician is also a proud father to a beautiful baby girl, Oarabile Kagoentle Sithole. This Father’s day, he shared a cute picture of himself and his daughter to celebrate.
Another musician who is also mourning his mother is singer Tshego. Taking to his Instagram, the ‘Hennessey’ hitmaker wrote: āThis week has been hard for us without you and I donāt see it getting any easier. I canāt say goodbye – instead, Iāll say goodnight for now. Iāll see you soon mom.”
Just a couple of days ago, Tshego got interviewed by American businessman Brad Belish on his āSelf Madeā series. Explaining how he got into music, he said his parents are the reason he developed a love for music and eventually pursued a career in it. āBoth my parents are ordained ministers. They always played gospel in the house. My dad was in love with country music. It always played in the house so when I expressed my interest in music I donāt think it came as a shock to them. And they supported my decision. Like I said, I was always a hustler and they knew If I said I was going to do something then I was going to do everything in my power to make it happen.
āI got really serious about music when I was fifteen/sixteen. Iād always been performing as a child. I always just found a stage. It almost started out as competition and I became pretty serious about it,ā said the hitmaker.
