A Look At AKA's Being laid To Rest

It seems that the close friends, family and colleagues of Kiernan Jarryd “AKA” Forbes can finally start to heal from his tragic passing. This is as the Hip-Hop legend was confirmed to have been assassinated on Friday, 11 February 2023.

An assassination which also claimed his friend and former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane as they were both gunned down outside of the Wish restaurant on Florida Road, Morningside, Durban.

While the memorial service was live streamed and the public was also invited, the funeral service was completely private, but it seems that it was not all that private as visuals of the final moments of the rapper on the earth were shared.

A look at AKA’s being laid to rest

AKA’s funeral service seemed to have started early in the morning at 10:00 as a convoy was recorded ahead of the funeral church service. Visuals from outside the church service were shared.

Moreover, visuals of the body of the legendary rapper being lowered in his final resting place at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg were subsequently shared. The visuals showed his father Tny Forbes watching with tears as he bid his eldest son his final goodbye.

Following the burial, it seems that this was followed with the erection of his tombstone immediately after. This is as images of the rapper’s tombstone were shared.

AKA’s final moments were shared as more tributes to his girlfriend Nadia Nakai poured in. More so as it was revealed that the two were ready to start a family as reported:

The other close friend reveals to Zimoja Lezinto that Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was ready to settle down this year with Nakai.
“She supported him. Took the late-night calls when he was crying and she was there for him. She was the one. He was planning to propose this year. He was hopeless romantic and I am sure by Valentine’s day, it would have been done,” reported the publication
Although AKA and Nadia Nakai have also been dating for a short minute but their love story was one for the books. They recently returned from the United States together, their first international trip and most definitely one can tell that they truly and deeply loved each other.
“Funny thing is they have known each other for more than 10 years and at one point he mentored her for a project But the love only came when he was in a dark place and needed her the most.” reported the publication

This comes as Yanga Chief reiterated the same sentiments during the memorial service as reported at the time:

Yanga Chief‘s speech most definitely resonated with the room as he shared some of his fondest memories with AKA over time. An emotional Yanga Chief did not hold back to show pain, weakness, and vulnerability as a proper send-off to his best friend.
What really moved the masses was the conversation they once had about his relationship with Nadia Nakai. Although both AKA and Nadia Nakai have only been dating for a long minute their love story was very inspiring to scores of their fans and followers.
“To Nadia, the first time I asked Kiernan how was your relationship going, he did not hesitate to tell me “bra this is it for me, Nadia saved my life” I thank you for loving my bru and bringing back to him after we thought we have lost him the first time. He loved your so much,” said Yanga Chief.
