Mzansi’s rising star and Maskandi musician Senzo Zondo, affectionately known as Ntencane, ushered the masses into 2020 in style. The musician bagged the SABC’s Ukhozi FM song of the year title.
His song Wawuthembeni , scooped the coveted titled and he walked away with a whopping R50 000 in cash.
The much-anticipated announcement was supposed to be made on 31 December 2019, but the campaign was brought to an abrupt halt by a court interdict, through an application brought against the SABC.
The court application was subsequently withdrawn in January 2020. Following the abandoned court application, the SABC made the announcement yesterday.
The announcement was welcomed by fireworks and revelers who attended it waltzed into 2020, in pure pizzazz.
Avid listeners of the radio station congratulated the KZN’s most sought after maskandi musician for bagging the hotly contested title.
