We often talk about the happy times in marriage, but this couple has endured some serious hardships.
The couple was out of the spotlight for approximately 5 years as they had to come to terms with their last-born son, Mpilo, being diagnosed with stage 4 eye cancer in 2014.
Life became emotionally, spiritually and financially challenging for the Mbabes during that period. When medical bills piled up, they had to downgrade on their cars and cut down on some luxuries; they also lost friends in the industry. But in all of that, their bond became stronger and their love grew.
Taking to her Instagram to celebrate their union, Phumeza wrote, “6 years ago, on this day, we made our union official at home affairs (literally😁) and went home to celebrate with a few friends and family. 6 down, a lifetime to go!Happy Anniversary baba weyingane!”
