South African actress, Pearl Thusi, took to Instagram to share an endearing video of her youngest daughter, Okuhle, and her cousin Kiki, who were seen dancing to Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl. The two sassy little girls showed attitude as they confidently danced to the song, which promotes loving yourself as a black woman.
Pearl, who has been the subject of a colourism controversy recently, spoke candidly about how she wanted to promote self-love for her daughter, who she wishes could see how beautiful she is. She stated, “All I want for her is to have no doubt about how beautiful she is. I actually try and think of practical ways to protect her confident spirit”.
Fans praised Pearl for her parenting, and commended her on teaching her Okuhle about loving herself from such a young age.
