
Born in November 1999 in Soweto, Kamo Mphela has managed to earn a spot as the queen of Amapiano and she has proven that she is here to stay.
Kamo who shot to fame a few years ago started her practising for fame and big things that would come into her life when she was little, with the help of her parents.

Who is Kamo Mphela’s father?
Kamo Mphela’s father is Onitiaf Mphela. He is in the media industry and when Kamo was growing up, he worked in the production team of YFM.
In a video that was recently shared on social media, where Kamo Mphela was addressing young students at a school, Kamo Mphela took the opportunity to introduce her father whom she applauded for believing in her and helping her chase her dreams.
And while netizens were in awe of the man who made Kamo Mphela the big star she is today, many couldn’t help but comment on how handsome he looked with some leaving comments like “they wouldn’t mind being Kamo’s step mom.”
It is unclear what Kamo Mphela’s father is up to these days but what we know for sure is that he is a proud father.

What role did Kamo Mphela’s father play in making Kamo’s career?
In a past interview, Kamo Mphela revealed that from a young age, she knew she wanted to be in the entertainment industry although she did not decide on her niche until much later.
Her father introduced the young Kamo Mphela to the industry using his connections at YFM. Kamo revealed that her father used to take her to YFM events and whenever a chance presented itself, he would put her on stage and let her perform.
Besides taking her to shows, Kamo Mphela’s father also got her acting gigs at popular shows such as Scandal and Isibaya as an extra on the shows.
Kamo also did some emceeing and events hosting. She did a promotional video for Jobe London which went viral and soon after other big names in the industry started reaching out to her. She was later also featured in Jobe London’s hit song Sukendleleni which opened doors for her into the industry as a dancer, and the rest, as they say, is history.

While Kamo Mphela’s fans finally got to put a face on the artist’s father, the same cannot be said about her mother who has managed to steer clear from the media for all these years.
Kamo once revealed that she had a complicated relationship with her mother and that she was not very close to her growing up.
Although the young talented raising star disclosed that she didn’t have a very tight and typical mother-daughter relationship with her mum, she played a huge role in helping her get in the entertainment industry as she convinced her father to allow her to choose her own career path and make her own mistakes which would help her learn.
