Edwin Sodi Allegedly Dating YOTV Presenter

Well-known and controversial businessman Edwin Sodi does not remain a single man for too long, as he is currently in a relationship, and has been for a while.

You will remember the businessman, who is the CEO of Blackhead Consulting, when he made headlines last year in the high profile Free State asbestos corruption case. Sodi and six co-accussed were arrested and also had their assets seized. For Sodi, it was reported that over R300 million worth of possessions and over twenty-five luxury cars including Ferraris and Bentleys were seized.

He is also the man Idols producer and host Tebogo “ProVerb” Thekisho accussed of being in a relationship with his wife, Onalerona Thekiso, in 2015, resulting in the break-up of their 10-year marriage. Sodi was also reportedly behind the split between DJ Sbu and his now-ex-wife Disebo Makatsa in the same year.

At the time of his arrest last year, Sodi was in a relationship with influencer, Kefilwe Mabote. As a result of the corruption charges, the influencer received a lot of flack for dating Sodi. She was dragged into the drama surrounding the charges, and was accussed of benefiting from the crime as she lived a very lavish lifestyle.  The charges and rumours took a toll on their relationship, which resulted in their break up in 2021 – this after Mabote posted about being single in February.

However, according to recent reported, Sodi is not a single man anymore as he is said to be in a relationship with 21-year-old Katlego ‘Kat’ Ncala, and may have actually been with her since January this year.

City Press reports that souces have revealed that the beauty queen and YOTV presenter’s BMW, which she bought in January,  was a actually a gift from her businessman bae.

“They haven’t been dating for too long. He apparently bought her the new car she posted on her Twitter page in January,” said one source.

Another source claims that Ncala came into Sodi’s life at the right time because Mabote dropped him when he needed her most.

“Refilwe dropped Edwin just when he needed her most, because he had been arrested and everything was taken from him. So even though Katlego and Edwin are super-private right now about their relationship, he found Kat,” claimed the source.

City Press further reports that Ncala responded to their enquiry about the rumours and explained that she bought her own car. She added that Sodi is her mother’s friend.

“In response to your email, please note that I purchased the BMW myself in January. Furthermore, Edwin Sodi has been my mother’s close friend since high school,” Ncala said.

Her mother, Trinity Ncala, corroborated her response, further explaining that Sodi’s name is being dragged through the mud.

“There is a group of people who are running a smear campaign on Edwin and now they are just trying to use my daughter. She is not dating Edwin. He is a friend of mine from way back,” she said.

Sodi was not available to comment when the publication contacted him.
