Pearl Thusi had a bittersweet 32nd birthday yesterday.
It was the first birthday the actress is celebrating without her father, Bhekizizwe Thusi.
Last month Pearl left her fans concerned when she deactivated her social media platforms without warning. At the time her best friend DJ Zinhle sent her a very cryptic message.
“This is for you. Everything will be okay… I love you @pearlthusi.. #SpecialDedication. #Umlilo“
The actress went quiet and only logged in to promote the trailer for the second season of Queen Sono.
On her birthday yesterday she took to Instagram to commemorate her birthday and also reveal that this would be the first birthday without her father. It seems she has taken the time off to mourn her dad who recently passed away.
She broke her silence by saying “1st one without you daddy”.
Her mom died in 2004 when she was a teenager. She revealed a while ago that her relationship with her father was a bit complicated because he allegedly abused her mother.
Although their relationship was strained at the time of her mom’s death, however all had been forgiven and the pair had mended their relationship.
