Here are the 2019 Feather Awards Winners

The 11th annual Feather Awards event was held on Thursday, 16th October, and extends to Saturday, October 19th. The Zalebs in attendance were looking oh, so fly (not all of them though)!

The Feather Awards are dedicated to celebrating the LGBTIQ community through arts. The nominees for the 2019 awards had been announced in August this year.

Four new categories were then added onto the programme namely: Best Rainbow Parenting, Best LGBTIQ Student Movement, Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Public Sector, and Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Private Sector.

Media personality Moshe Ndiki was one of the hosts this year, alongside Rami Chuene and Pabi Moloi.

Best Styled Individual – Loot Love

Hunk of the Year – Rich Mnisi

Hot Chick of the Year- Krayzie K

Sports Personality of the Year- Thembi Kgatlana

Best Rainbow Parenting- Felicia Leqela – Lumko Johnson’s Mother

Diva Extraordinaire of the Year- Bonnie Mbuli

Social Media Personality Of the Year- Dr Sindi Van Zyl

Cutest Couple- Dineo Moeketsi & Solo

Role model of the Year- Mandisa Mfeka

Drama Queen – Bujy & Nandos

Socialite- Mihlali Ndamase

Musician- Busiswa

Fag hag of the Year- Penny Lebyane

Best LGBTIQ Student Movement- UJ LGBTI SWC Society

Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Public Sector- Gauteng Department of Community Safety

Best LGBTIQ Initiative in the Private Sector- Shell SA

Media Awards of the year- We’re Queer, My Dear
