more like a sisterhood where they sometimes have their differences, but regardless still
love each other.

Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle became BFFs in 2015 after DJ Zinhle’s man, AKA,
started dating Bonang
Matheba after an alleged affair.
Zinhle and Pearl Thusi’s mutual hate towards Bonang Matheba helped solidify their bond and
over the years the two have served some hot BFF goals.
Their relationship revolved around showing up for each other, fighting each other’s
battles, traveling and partying together and even rocking matching outfits.
After breaking up with AKA, DJ Zinhle moved into Pearl Thusi’s house while her house was
under construction.
“I didn’t have a house, I was literally homeless because of my building and she was
in New York and forced me to move into her house, so I moved myself, my nanny and my baby
into her house,” DJ Zinhle said.
At the time, DJ Zinhle’s firstborn Kairo was a baby and Zinhle revealed that Pearl Thusi
who already knew the ropes around motherhood taught her a lot of things about parenting and
how to handle a lot of situations.
Is it over between Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle?
There have been rumours about a fallout between Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle for a long time,
and although the two friends have consistently denied that there is bad blood between them,
social media police don’t seem to believe them.
The most recent incident that had fans questioning DJ Zinhle and Pearl Thusi’s friendship
was when a video of the two friends during Moozlie’s birthday party emerged.
In the video, DJ Zinhle is seen spinning the decks when Pearl Thusi approaches her but
Zinhle instead gestures at Pearl in a dismissive manner and then calls DJ Brandon and talks
to him; at this point, Pearl walks away.
The clip sparked a conversation on Twitter with tweeps giving their two cents on the
incident and on the women’s friendship. The general conclusion from many tweeps was that the
friendship is on the rocks and that the two were only forcing issues.

After the video went viral and tweeps went up in arms calling out
DJ Zinhle for treating Pearl Thusi “badly” both Zinhle and Pearl came out to dismiss
naysayers and confirmed that their friendship was still intact.
Taking to Twitter, DJ Zinhle explained her side of the story saying that she had not
treated Pearl meanly at all.
“Hey guys. I need to clear things up. Pearl & I had a great time & on the
video you saw, I was gesturing to Brandon, whom I was playing a set with, to come &
select the song cause we were using his USBs,” wrote Zinhle.
Pearl Thusi also came in to narrate her side of her story. She retweeted one of DJ Zinhle’s
tweets and explained her confusion at how things had escalated very fast given that she had
only decided to get out of the way after realizing that DJ Zinhle was busy.
