Late last year, the country mourned the loss of Simz Ngema’s late husband Dumi Masilela who was killed in a hijacking, and though he might have passed away at a young age, the actress finds comfort in the fact that he lived a full life while he was still alive.
Dumi Masilela was involved in quite a number of activities, from music, sports and acting, he excelled in all of them. In a recent interview on Trending SA, Simz opened up about the things many people did not know about her late husband while he was still alive.
“The one thing that people didn’t know is that, although he passed away at 29, he lived a full life, Dumi was talented and he was good at everything, he played all the instruments, I thought I was talented until I met Dumi. He was a professional soccer player, he was able to use all his talents on professional platforms, how many people can say that? So for me, he really really lived and he will forever remain an inspiration to me”
Although she says the process of healing was not an easy one, Simz Ngema is currently writing a book about how she dealt with the grief to help others who have lost a loved one to deal with the situation.
