Most Africans know that ancestral callings are never to be ignored or taken lightly.
Nosipho’s character on Uzalo, played by Nompilo Maphumulo, is currently going through immense confusion about her ancestral journey. Many have been closely following this riveting storyline from its inception, and are eager to find out how Nospiho will triumph in the end.
Nosipho’s dilemma saw an introduction of a Xulu elder who has been roped in to lead the ancestral proceedings with the troublesome Mkhonto Xulu. However, it is Nosiphos’s relationship with her mother that leaves us feeling all sorts of envy, as we see MaNgcobo supporting her daughter on this confusing and dark journey.
This particular storyline could serve as some kind of a history lesson as many of our black forefathers were buried on some white people’s farms as they were slaves. The storyline ties in perfectly with the happenings in our country as we find ourselves grappling with issues of land and racism.
Uzalo has an impressive history of tackling storylines about relevant social ills that are plaguing Mzansi Who could ever forget about the iconic Albino plot, or gay relationships and the stereotypes? The list is endless. We can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
