Have you watched The Squid Game series?

Squid Game is a South Korean Drama series that has taken the world by storm.

The drama series, which airs on Netflix, has topped the service’s charts in more than 80 countries. So far, it has amassed 111 million fans since its debut barely four weeks ago.

Squid Game is based on 456 cash-strapped players who accept a strange invitation to compete in series of deadly children’s games. The victor stands a chance to win millions in cash of money. The losers are killed.

Particularly, what stands out is the backstory story behind its creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.

Hwang, in an interview with The Korean Times, disclosed that he was rejected by studies for a decade years before finding luck with Netflix.

“After about 12 years, the world has changed into a place where such peculiar, violent survival stories are actually welcomed,” Hwang told the publication.

Hwang, who first came up with the script in 2008, said he got the green light from Netflix in 2019 to go ahead with the project.
Well, South Africa has not been left behind on the Squid Game craze.

We asked our followers on Facebook to rate the series out of 10 and below are their responses.
