The fact that she is releasing her first album, however, is not at all indicative of the years she’s been involved in the music industry. Mofokeng kicked off a career in singing at the tender age of 22 and spent eight years singing backup for Mafikizolo.
“Music is something I was born with,” she told SunBuzz.
“I started out as a backing vocalist eight years ago and that helped me to understand the industry better.
“Besides working for Mafikizolo, I also worked for both Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza in their respective solo albums.”
Mofokeng’s debut album is called ‘Greatful’, a combination of the words ‘great’ and ‘full’, which she says is “to show how great the fulfilment of God is”.
“It’s a very personal album that takes you through the journey of worshipping God, having hope that everything will be delivered in due time and in God’s time,” she added.
‘Greatful’ will be available in shops during the first week of December.
