Gomora Fans Are Greatly Touched By Teddy
Many Gomora fans were left very touched by Teddy after Wednesday night’s episode. The high school character who has often been defined as a ‘special child’ and lives with his uneducated mother in a shack, was unable to express himself in English at the school debate competition.

Teddy is the mildest and meekest teenager you can ever think of. While he is not exactly the sharpest tool in the Gomora Secondary School shed, he has managed to win the hearts of many South Africans.

During the debate in Wednesday night’s episode, fans believe he deserved a better chance to express himself (perhaps in his mother tongue) and were greatly touched by the fact that his classmates laughed at him for not being able to articulate himself. For some, it was even a harsh reminder of what happened to them during their school years.

The role of Teddy is played by talented Tembisa-born actor Sicelo Buthelezi. Through Teddy and his friends at Gomora Secondary School, the telenovela aims to highlight injustices and social issues in South Africa which take place in our schools and  our communities.

While we do not know how the rest of Teddy’s narrative will unfold, we hope he will be bailed from all this difficulty and get a better life.
