As if stepping down from his duties at Moja Love was not enough, he publicly asked for forgiveness, making many wonder if that was admission of guilt.
Now, the alleged victim has decided to use the resources the justice system in South Africa has provided, by opening a case of sexual assault. According to Daily Sun, the incident happened in 2018, whereas the Bishop said the recorded cellphone conversation happened in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with Solomon’s temple, the woman says it started off with inappropriate looks, to the Bishop allegedly trying to kiss her. She worked at the church as a receptionist and said she was with a colleague at a parking lot when he gave her apparent carnal looks. The 17 year old was not wearing anything revealing or sexual, saying she wore jeans and a body suit.
The alleged victim says she received phone calls from the Bishop, requesting to meet up so she could give him the keys. When they met up, the Bishop allegedly told her to get in and made advances. They then drove to the church and claimed that Makamu attempted to kiss her but she ran away.
The next day, he apparently called her asking for “it” and in the recorded voice clip, the woman responds with “Sunday.” In the interview, the lady says the part where Makamu allegedly asks to sleep with her was not recorded.
After informing her parents, her father confronted the Bishop. At first he denied everything and accused her for faking the recording. Then as time went Makamu apparently started being arrogant by pulling the “Do you know who I am” phrase.
R1 million hush money was not enough for the family as they then demanded an apology. Which he apparently failed to give, so they made their way to the Midrand Police Station.
A police officer, Captain Mavela Masondo confirmed this to Daily Sun and said the case will be relayed to the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit.
