The prestigious 26th annual South African Music Awards (SAMA26), finally aired last night on Mzansi Magic, but they left a bitter taste in the mouths of Ami Faku‘s fans. The awards were hosted by Dineo Langa and Donovan Goliath with a few winners announced, as part of their five-night broadcast event from the 3-7 August.

The Imali hit maker was nominated in the Best Newcomer Of The Year category which was scooped by Ndabo Zulu and Umgidi Ensemble. Ami Faku‘s fans lashed out at the controversial awards and accused them for snubbing the vocalist.
It is no secret that Ami Faku had a tremendous year in 2019, and her music career soaring , hence fans said she deserved the award.
The vocalist bagged 3 nods at the #SAMA26 and we hope she will emerge victoriously in the upcoming broadcasts.
