DJ Maphorisa Not Affected By Online Music Piracy
According to the Recording Industry of South Africa (Risa), online music piracy has risen since the national lockdown began.

Risa says that amongst the highest pirated songs are eMcimbini by Kabza de Small; Love Letter by Blaq Diamond; Tender Love by Sha Sha featuring DJ Maphorisa; Umlilo by DJ Zinhle; Love You Tonight by MFR Souls and Joyous 24 album by Joyous Celebration.

Internet piracy is when music is compressed, posted and transmitted globally on the internet without payment to those involved in the creation of the music.

According to Risa, artists and record companies lose almost R500 million to piracy each year.

DJ Maphorisa has a different opinion though when it comes to online music piracy, saying that it is out of fashion as CDs and DVDs are no longer used.

Maphorisa feels that his name should be left out of the piracy talk as he is doing alright.
