Eyebrows have been raised because her ‘departure’ was so sudden, especially after Nomzamo Mbatha and Menzi Ngubane also bid farewell. According to Sunday World, a source within the production informed them that her exit would be on a trip to Ghana.
However, Isibaya’s production team confirmed to TshisaLive that she was ‘taking a break.’
According to Philly Kubheka, who is M-Net’s head of public relations and publicity for local entertainment channels, they wrote a statement in a bid to clear things up. Jessica’s planned trip to Ghana was written into the story. He also allegedly hinted at her possible return.
Jessica’s statement to Sunday World contradicts what Philly had to say. She said;
“It is true that I’m leaving Isibaya. I’d like to explore the industry and expand on my craft a little further. It was time for me to leave. I’m so grateful to the Isibaya team for helping me establish myself in this industry with such an incredible cast and crew. I’m still on the show and viewers will have to watch to see when my last episode is. To the viewers of Isibaya, I say thank you.”
Could this mean the actress might return to the show like she did back in 2017?
