“After 15 years we still pride ourselves in creating a show that we feel allows Africans to be proud of who they are,” said Duma Ndlovu, the creator of the show.
The evening became emotional as a montage of the late Lindiwe Chibi (who played the original Doobsie) was shown. Duma said she was a key character in the show and that she is still missed.

It’s official: American superstar Adam Lambert is love with South Africa and its people!
The 30-year-old former American Idol runner-up and rocker, who is currently in SA as part of his 2012 Trespassing World Tour, spent last night out dining and partying at Cape Town’s trendy Beefcakes restaurant, in the heart of the “gay village” in Green Point in The Mother City.
Staff member Emile Doubell told ZAlebs that Lambert was “so down to earth” and even said to everyone: “Cape Town, you turn it out on a Wednesday night”.
Doubell said fans and Beefcakes customers appreciated the Lambert mingled with them – without bodyguards being present – and he witnessed Lambert arriving at the venue in a minibus taxi.
“Adam told us all that he loves Cape Town and can’t wait to be back here! He has a naughty streak and even ended up having seven body shots off one of our sexy waiters,” said Doubell.
Lambert was later seen partying it up at the trendy Cape Town night club, Crew Bar, last night ahead of his Johannesburg performance today!
